DAY 1-LOS ANGELES-PARIS

DAY 2- PARIS
Arrive Paris. Check into hotel. Our hotel is located in the center of the historic St. Germain des Pres area, within walking distance to the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Notre Dame, St. Chapelle, and the Luxembourg Gardens. This area features many design shops, art galleries, and antique shops.

4 Nights-Paris

DAY 3 - PARIS
Morning City Tour includes: Notre Dame, the Pantheon, Place de La Concorde, Eiffel Tower, the Trocadero, Latin Quarter, Place Vendome, and Place de l'Opera, Hotel de Sully, and the Place Des Vosges in the Marais area.
Afternoon: Free. Optional visit to the Musee Picasso.
Evening: Welcome Dinner. (B,D)

DAY 4- PARIS
Morning: Today we have a guided art tour of the Louvre, including the Pyramid by I.M. Pei. We will discuss the works of Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Caravaggio, Veronese, David, Gericault, Delecroix, plus many more.
Afternoon: Optional tour to Giverny.
Evening: Free (B)

DAY 5- PARIS
Morning: Guided Art Tour of the Musee D'Orsay, the converted 19th C. railway station now a great museum devoted to late 19th Century art and ideas. Some of the artists whose works we will be discussing are Courbet, Manet, Monet, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cezanne and more. Here we set the stage for our tour to the south of France to see where these artists lived and worked.
Lunch: Optional Musee D'Orsay Dining Room
Afternoon: Free. You could plan an optional visit to Versailles.
Evening: Free (B)

PROVENCE

DAY 6- PARIS-AIX-EN-PROVENCE
Today we begin our eight day tour to the South of France.
AM Board the TGV, the Fast Train to Aix-en-Provence. Check into hotel.
PM Guided tour of the town.
Evening: Free (B)
3 Nights in Aix

DAY 7- AIX-EN-PROVENCE-ARLES
Today we will travel to Arles and environs. A visit to the Roman Amphitheatre is planned. We will also make stops at sites where Van Gogh painted; the draw-bridge and Les Alyscamps. In the afternoon we will visit Les Baux de Provence, and the Citadel built on an impressive rock spur. The village, now very much restored, has many Gothic and Romanesque homes which house little museums and art galleries.
Evening: Dinner at special restaurant (B,D)

DAY 8- AIX-EN-PROVENCE-AVIGNON
This morning we will leave for Avignon to visit the Popes Palace. We venture into the stunning countryside of Provence and stop at the Fontaine de Vaucluse source of the Sorgue River. On our return we will visit Gordes one of the most beautiful of the perched villages.

COTE D'AZUR

DAY 9- AIX-EN-PROVENCE-CASSIS-NICE
We will check out of our hotel. Visit CezanneÕs Studio and then drive to Cassis, site of the Callanques, scenic coves between high ridges. We will stop for a Bouillabaisse Lunch in Cassis on the Mediterranean. We continue on to Nice and check into hotel.
Lunch: Nino Restaurant
Evening: A walking tour of old Nice is planned. (B,L)
4 Nights-Nice

DAY 10- NICE-CAGNES SUR MER-ANTIBES
We drive to Cagnes sur Mer and visit Maison Les Collettes, Renoir's Home and Studio. We will proceed to Antibes for lunch and a visit to the Chateau which now houses the Picasso Museum. On our return to Nice we will drive to Cimiez and visit the Matisse Museum. Evening: Free (B)

DAY 11-NICE-VENCE-ST. PAUL DE VENCE
We will drive to Vence where we will visit the Dominican Chapelle du Rosaire decorated by Matisse. We then continue to nearby St. Paul-de-Vence, the ancient and once fortified village, to visit the Maeght Fondation, which was inaugerated in 1964 for the promotion of Contemporary art.
Lunch in St. Paul de Vence
Evening: An optional tour to Monaco and Monte Carlo could be planned. (B,L)

DAY 12-NICE-ST. JEAN CAP FERRAT-EZE
In the morning we will walk to the flower market in Nice and take our lunch at leisure in the market area. There are many sites in Nice, including the Musee Chagall and the Musee D'Art Contemporain. In the early afternoon we will drive north to the beautiful peninsula of St. Jean Cap Ferrat for a visit to the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild and stop in Eze before returning to Nice.
Evening: Farewell Dinner at Restaurant Flo (B,D)

DAY 13-NICE-PARIS-LAX
