"
UCLA Extension is offering a 15-day travel study tour program showcasing the heritage of art, architecture, interiors, gardens and cuisine of England. "Treasures of England" was developed by artist and educator Judith Corona. Students will visit such architectural landmarks as St. Paul's Cathedral, Salisbury Cathedral and Stonehenge. Also included are stops at Hampton Court Palace, Chiswick House, Blenheim Palace, and the Royal Pavilion at Brighton. A London city tour includes the British Museum, National Gallery, Tate Gallery, Victoria and Albert Museum and Sir John Soane's House. In the West Country, the tour will be based in Bath, with tours to the Lake District. A visit to Stratford-upon-Avon to see Shakespeare's home and birthplace is also planned. Cost: $3600 per person, double occupancy, including course fee, accommodations in first-class hotels, some meals, ground transportation, guides, entrance fees and transfers while on tour. "France: Art, Architecture"

Visit the villages and studios where Van Gogh, Matisse, Renoir, Cezanne and Picasso lived and worked. Dates for this tour are June 21 to July 3. Guests will sample Provencal cuisine and wine in the hilltop villages. Artist and educator Judith Corona will lead the art and architecture study tour of Paris, Provence, and the Cote D'Azur. Lectures are planned at the Louvre and the Musee D'Orsay. The guided city tour will include Notre Dame, Place des Vosges, the Pantheon and the Eiffel Tour. Free time will be available to visit Versailles or Monet's home and gardens at Giverny. In Provence, guests will stay in Avignon and visit the Palais des Papes, and in Arles, they will visit Roman ruins and the many sites where Van Gogh painted. Also scheduled are visits to the ancient town of Les Baux-de-Provence and the hilltop town of Gordes. In Aix-en-Provence the tour stops at Cezanne's studio. From Nice the group will travel south to Antibes to view the Musee Picasso. A visit to Renoir's studio is also planned. College Credit through UCLA Extension. "Spanish Treasures"

The Treasures of Spain: Art, Architecture, Interiors, Culture and Cuisine" is the theme of a 14-day travel-study tour of Spain scheduled by UCLA extension. The tour is open to all but is geared to artists, designers and architects. Visitors explore Spain's important historic sites, museums, palaces and mosques to trace the influences of the Iberians, Greeks, Romans, Jews, Moors and Christians on Spain's art and culture. In Madrid, participants will visit the Prado, the Royal Palace, the Reina Sofia Museum and the Thyssen-Bornemisza collection in the Vilahermosea. From Madrid, there are day trips to the Roman aqueduct in Segovia and to San Lorenzo de El Escorial. Guests are driven through Andalusian villages with stops in Jerez de la Frontera and stay overnight in the parador in Ronda. Participants visit prehistoric cave paintings of Cuevas de Pileta. The tour concludes with a visit to Barcelona to explore the works of the modernists, including Gaudi, Miro, Picasso and Dali. "Art and Italy"

Artist-lecturer Judith Corona of Otis College of Art and Design leads a 14 day art study tour of Italy, March 23-April 5. This tour is open to all, but would be especially interesting to artists, designers and architects. This guided tour to Italy's important historic sites and museums will focus on Roman, medieval and Renaissance art. Included are overnight stays in Rome to visit the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel and the Borghese Galleries. From Rome the group will visit Pompeii and stay in Sorrento. In Florence members will examine the works of Michelangelo, Da Vinci, and Raphael to study the techniques and iconography of the masters. Guided tours of the Uffizi gallery, the Pitti Palace, Santa Croce and Piazza del Duomo are planned. In Assisi, a highlight is a visit to see the frescoes of Giotto de Bondone and Cenno dei Pepe Cimabue. There will be lunches and visits to craftsmen's studios in the Tuscan countryside. A wine tasting is planned at the Badia a Coltibuono, the 11th Century abbey, farm and cooking school of Lorenza de Medici. The tour concludes in Venice, with visits to the Doge's Palace, Basilica San Marco and Galleria dell'Accademia.
